Who was the “Top” high school football player in Guilford County this past season???

Got any suggestions???

Who was the “Top” high school football player in Guilford County this past season???

Was it Emmanuel Moseley?(Dudley)
Chris Register(Dudley)
Albert McLean(Dudley)
Marquell Cartwright(High Point Andrews)
Lamar Raynard(High Point Andrews)
Austin Coltrane(Northern Guilford)
Jamiel Mack(High Point Central)
Germaine Pratt(High Point Central)
Rick Mack(Southwest Guilford)
Christian Dix(Northwest Guilford)
Jon Sugg(Northwest Guilford)
Reggie Gallaspy(Southern Guilford)
Jalen Gavin(Page)
Shakir Turner(Southeast Guilford)
?????

Moseley was the top offensive player in the Metro 4-A Conference…..McLean was the top defensive player in the Metro…They were named to those honors by the voting coaches and I would have to think that Jamiel Mack and Pratt would be taking similar honors in the Piedmont Triad 4-A…Coltrane in the Mid-State 3-A for offense and Gallaspy in the Mid-Piedmont 3-A for offense….

Plenty of thoughts and plenty of time to talk about it, here early in the week….

Who was Mr. Top, or Mr. MOP??(Most Outstanding Player)……

  1. Anthony Harding (NW) was the offensive MVP for the Piedmont Triad 4A conference. He should be on the list too.

  2. Marquell Cartwright, has twice been named offensive player of the year in the PAC 6 conference and for the year had more than 2700 yards rushing and 38 td’s

  3. Numbers will probably point to Moseley, Cartwright or Jamiel Mack … but Albert McLean between the trenches is a hoss. Defensive tackles don’t get the pub, but he’s an all-state caliber guy

  4. What’s the deal on McLean? Doesn’t show up in Rivals or Scout recruiting databases. I’m sure he’s shorter than 6-foot and that hurts him with the FBS schools, but you’d have to believe he could play for somebody. Aggies? Elon? WSSU?

  5. ‘Big A’ Albert McLean plays real big and the big man can move….He plays taller than he actually is and he gets around so well for a big man of 260 or more….

He will land somewhere and that is a fact…If he doesn’t play at the next level, a big injustice will have been done….

This young man has to go on and play in college, even if we have to take up a collection and send him there…
