WALLBURG — Southeast Guilford took command in the third quarter and stopped North Davidson 60-43 in the opening round of the NewBridge Bank Classic on Thursday.
With the score tied at 22 after the second quarter. the Falcons outscored the Black Knights 22-12 in the third and then pulled away in the fourth.
Kayla Phifer led Southeast with 15 and Kara Shutt added 12.
Lauren Ramsey paced North with 19 points that included 13 of the Black Knights’ 21 in the second half. Taylor Darrow added 154 but was held to two points in the second half.
Ledford beat SE Guilford in the semis today.
Lost by 3, Shutt did not play, out with a bruised foot from being fell on by North Davidson player. Still we should have won, just did not finish. Good luck to Ledford.
