Conversely, the Bengals sprinted out of the gate during this same stretch and outscored Northwest 24-6 in the final frame.

  1. Don’t you love the ‘unbiased’ News & Record coverage? Northwest Guilford men’s basketball team played a hotly contested, very competitive game in the Timco Tournament vs Greensboro Day yesterday & actually went into the 4th quarter w/ a lead before running out of gas w/ about 5 min.’s to play. Not one NWG player was mentioned by name while giving the usual over-coverage to a GDS squad that was not overly impressive until the 4th quarter. My son alone had more 3 pt shots for the game than their entire team. And our guards managed to contain their perimeter players the majority of time w/ a 9 man rotating defense . But you won’t ever hear any of that in this paper! It’s always the press going gaga over a private school that can recruit from anywhere, and does, going up against local public schools. But that’s the nature of the beast!! Good luck Viking girls in the championship game!!! Just don’t expect much coverage if you’re from Northwest High!
