GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford came out with a purpose in the 1st quarter and established the theme for a 72-52 victory over rival Northern Guilford to finish in 3rd Tournament. The Vikings controlled the momentum from the opening tap as they raced to a 23-11 1st quarter lead. Northwest used constant pressure on defense while they shared the ball early and often on offense for a true “team” win. The 3rd the highest level achieved by any Northwest team in the history of the tournament.
–The Vikings’ team effort placed 4 scorers in double figures. Jalen Spicer led the team with 16 points and 6 assists. Colson Everett tallied another double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
–Nick Powell and Tim Kilpatrick also contributed 13 and 11 points respectively while Hampton Billips chipped in with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks for Northwest. Kevin Henry provided a huge spark off the bench for the Vikings as he finished with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals.
–M. Curry led the Nighthawks with 11 points and J. Mc Cain added 10 points to assist the Northern Guilford attack.
