from the North Carolina A&T Aggies’ Athletics web site:

GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T will bring the New Year in by expanding its basketball coverage for its two teams. North Carolina A&T Athletics has entered a deal with ESPN Radio/Triad Sports Network to broadcast all A&T men’s basketball regular-season road games on 1200 WSML, 1230 WMFR and 1320 WCOG AM for the remainder of the 2013-14 regular-season. In addition, the radio network will also broadcast any postseason games that involve the men’s and women’s A&T basketball teams.

There will also be a weekly coaches’ show for men’s coach Cy Alexander which will air each Saturday on all three stations from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Alexander’s show will also include interviews with coaches and players from other A&T varsity sports.

The first show will be Saturday, January 4 and the first live broadcasted game will be later that evening when the Aggies face the Charlotte 49ers in Charlotte at 7. The pregame show for each game starts 30 minutes prior to tip-off.

Fans can also listen online by going to triadsports.com and clicking on the listen live button.

“We see this as a great opportunity for North Carolina A&T to begin a solid working relationship with ESPN Radio,” said A&T Director of Athletics Earl Hilton. “As we look to build championship-caliber programs for men’s and women’s basketball, there is an understanding that a part of that goal is having a media and marketing presence for both. Our partnership with ESPN and the Triad Sports Network will enhance what we are able to offer our fans, community and sponsors.”

The radio deal means every remaining A&T men’s basketball for the 2013-14 season will be broadcasted. Every men’s and women’s basketball home game can be seen on ncataggies.com via webstreaming thanks to Triad Entertainment Network.

Spencer Turkin will provide the play-by-play for the radio broadcast. Turkin has been with Curtis Media for 14 months, where he has done play-by-play for high school football and basketball games. He also has experience conducting pregame, halftime and postgame shows for IMG College.

Spencer Gwynn handles the Aggies’ webstreaming play-by-play. Gwynn has broadcasted A&T events for six decades, more prominently the A&T football games aired on WNAA 90.1 FM. Terry Cooper, a former A&T men’s basketball player who played on the Aggies 1995 NCAA tournament team, is the color analyst.
