Men’s Basketball (7-8, 0-1 SoCon)
Elon vs. Appalachian State, Monday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon vs. The Citadel, Saturday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• The Phoenix returns to Alumni Gym for its first league home game of the year tonight when it hosts Appalachian State.
• Elon currently leads the Southern Conference in three-point field goal percentage and is second in threes made with 135 as a team.
• Seniors Sebastian Koch (952 points) and Ryley Beaumont (912 points) are both nearing the 1,000-point career milestone. Both Jack Isenbarger and Lucas Troutman reached the milestone last season.

Men’s Tennis
Wolfpack Invite, Friday-Sunday, Jan. 10-12, Raleigh, N.C.

• The 64th-ranked Elon men’s tennis team opens its spring season this weekend at NC State in the Wolfpack Invite.
• Elon returns several key players heading into this season, including reigning Southern Conference Player of the Year, Cameron Silverman. Silverman earned a No. 25 preseason national singles ranking by the ITA.
• Elon won the Southern Conference regular season title last season, finishing the year with 17 wins. Silverman advanced to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships in singles, while he and teammate Stefan Fortmann advanced together in doubles.

Women’s Basketball (5-9, 1-2 SoCon)
Elon at Davidson, Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m., Davidson, N.C.
Elon at Georgia Southern, Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m., Statesboro, Ga.

• The Phoenix will continue SoCon play this weekend with its first true league road trip of the year. Elon plays at Davidson on Saturday before traveling to take on Georgia Southern. The maroon and gold dropped a game in Davidson last year but wrapped up the regular-season with a win in Statesboro.
• Elon is coming off a loss at UNCG Saturday, 73-62, but saw a career-high 19 points from Shannen Cochraham who went 9-of-15 from the field and grabbed five rebounds.
Last week, rookie Jenifer Rhodes was named the SoCon’s CRONS Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. Two other Elon freshmen – Lauren Brown and Lenaira Ruffin – have also earned the honor this season.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at Wake Forest Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 11, Winston-Salem, N.C.

• Elon opens its 2014 indoor campaign this Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational. The Phoenix captured the team title at last year’s meet with Charlise Morgan setting new school records in the shot put and weight throw.
• The Phoenix will compete at the JDL Fast Track Complex, the same facility where the 2014 Southern Conference Indoor Championships will be held.
• Along with Morgan, the Phoenix returns four members of the program that earned indoor All-SoCon honors last season. Sophomore Sydnee Griffin earned a conference championship in the 60-meter hurdles and also received All-SoCon honors in the 200-meters. Griffin joins Bria Bell (400-meters), Megan Kirschling (high jump) and Morgan (shot put) as returning athletes that received All-SoCon accolades for the maroon and gold.
