Men’s Basketball (9-8, 2-1 SoCon)
Elon at Davidson, Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m., Davidson, N.C.
Elon vs. #19 UMass, Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• Coming off two wins last week against Appalachian State and The Citadel, Elon returns to action this weekend at Davidson (Jan. 16) and at home against 19th-ranked UMass (Jan. 18).
• Saturday’s game against UMass will mark the first time since moving to the Division I ranks that Elon has hosted a nationally ranked team in Alumni Gym. The Phoenix and Minutemen played last season in Springfield, Mass., for the Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase game, as Elon fell in overtime.
• Sebastian Koch is on the verge of becoming Elon’s third 1,000-point scorer on its current roster, as the senior currently has 974 career points entering Thursday’s game. Not far behind is classmate Ryley Beaumont (936 points).

Men’s Tennis
#64 Elon at #7 Duke, Friday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m., Durham, N.C.

• Elon has its first dual match of the season on Friday, Jan. 16, in Durham, N.C., versus seventh-ranked Duke.
• The Phoenix is coming off a solid tournament over the weekend at the Wolfpack Invite in Raleigh, N.C.
• Cameron Silverman is currently ranked 25th in the nation in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), while Elon ranks 64th as a team.

Women’s Basketball (5-10, 1-3 SoCon)
Elon at Georgia Southern, Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m., Statesboro, Ga.
Elon vs. Appalachian State, Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m., Elon, N.C.
Elon vs. Western Carolina, Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• The Phoenix almost erased a once 18-point deficit to pull within three of Davidson with under a minute to play. However, the maroon and gold were not able to pull ahead and fell to the Wildcats, 67-62.
• Elon will play the first of its three games this coming week on Monday at Georgia Southern. The Phoenix has won the last four meetings, including a 76-65 victory last season in Statesboro, Ga.
• Rookie Lauren Brown scored 15 points in Saturday’s game at Davidson, while also tying three career highs with six field goals, five assists and three steals.

Women’s Tennis
#74 Elon at #54 Virginia Tech, Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m., Blacksburg, Va.

• Elon opens the 2014 season on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at Virginia Tech.
• The Phoenix enters the season nationally ranked at No. 74, while senior Jordan Johnston ranks 69th in singles.
• Following Saturday’s match, Elon’s next match is Jan. 22 at third-ranked North Carolina.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at Liberty Open, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 17-18, Lynchburg, Va.

• The Phoenix travels to Lynchburg, Va., for its second indoor meet of the year at the Liberty Open on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17-18.
• Elon is coming off its first meet of the year last Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational. The maroon and gold competed inside the JDL Fast Track Complex, the site of the 2014 Southern Conference Indoor Championships.
• Jennifer Esposito and Jennifer Pash broke into the program’s top-five on the all-time performance list in the 400-meter dash last Saturday. Esposito clocked a time of 58.54, while Pash crossed the line at 58.81, the fourth and fifth fastest mark in school-history, respectively.
