Jim Caldwell is the former head coach of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and he has also coached with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an assistant, he was an assistant and then later the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and took the Colts to the Super Bowl and then last year he went to the Super Bowl with Baltimore Ravens, as their offensive coordinator….He was the mentor for Peyton Manning while Manning was developing his game with the Colts and Jim Caldwell’s former boss Tony Dungy has nothing but good things to say about Caldwell…..

Tony Dungy on Jim Caldwell from WRALSportsFan.com:

“Detroit Lions’ General Manager Martin Mayhew called me and said we’re looking for a leader who can help turn our locker room into a winning one and to help us get the most out of our investment in Matthew Stafford,” Dungy recalled in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “I told Martin that Jim Caldwell is exactly what you’re looking for. He’ll lead by making people accountable and by being a role model on and off the field. And with his attention to detail and history of developing quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford is going to flourish just like Peyton Manning did with us in Indianapolis.”
