College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Falls to Frostburg State and Hollins

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team dropped two decisions Saturday in a double-dual meet with Frostburg State College and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Hollins University. The Quakers (0-6, 0-5 ODAC) fell to Frostburg State, 144-32, and to Hollins, 119-53.

Morgan McKinnon led Guilford with a second and a third-place finish. She placed second in the 100-meter breaststroke in one minute, 33.64 seconds, just one-hundredth of a second out of first. The junior also swam a leg on the Quakers’ 200 freestyle relay, which finished second in 2:32.08. McKinnon claimed third place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 33.12 seconds, the fastest of her career.

Guilford’s 200 medley relay shaved eight seconds off its previous season-low time and finished third in 3:10.72. The team consisted of Caitlin Young, Jarrett Knepper, Francesca Quigley and Jocelyn Gesner.

Coach Emily Wilson’s club is back in action this Friday (1/25) when the Quakers visit Greensboro College for a double-dual meet with the host Pride and Hollins. The meet starts at 6:00 p.m. in Greensboro’s Reynolds Family Center Pool.
