There was a shootout on Pleasant Ridge Road tonight as Vandalia Christian came calling on the New Garden Friends Bears. These teams always play a competitive and spirited game and tonight was no exception.

New Garden’s Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. knocked down 5 three pointers on his way to a 27 point, 8 assist game for the Bears. Not to be outdone, Vandalia’s T.C. Daniels hit four threes and recorded a game high 30 points to go with six assists.

The Bears had too much firepower on this night though, as Ikenna Smart had another double double as he took ownership of the paint with 25 points and 21 big rebounds. Also coming up big for New Garden was Junior Sterling Holland who got the transition game going and delighted the crowd with some high flying dunks en route to a 17 point performance as the Bears took control in the second half.
