East Forsyth(19-1)

For the second straight night, Larry Curry dominated play for East Forsyth, following a career-high 36 point performance in last night’s win at Northwest Guilford, with a 34-point effort in the Eagles’ 68-52 win at Glenn.

Curry posted near-identical shooting numbers (13-19 FG2; 2-2 FG3) plus a pair of FTs to lead East out of a tight first-half battle for the team’s 19th win in 20 games & it’s seventh victory in as many Piedmont Triad 4A Conference games. Curry, who broke the 1,000-point career scoring mark last night at NWG, also added 5 rebounds as East defeated it’s closest rival for the second time in a month.

Glenn frustrated East early with a variety of zone defenses and went to halftime down only six (32-26). But the Eagles locked down with defensive effort in the third, holding Glenn to 2 FGs & 2 FTs to open up a 16-point margin by the start the fourth quarter.

Two quick East Forsyth baskets at the start of the final quarter stretched the lead to 20, the Eagles’ largest margin. Yiannis Bowden led the Bobcats in his final home game with 15 points & 11 rebounds, but East’s Riley Larue grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go with his eight points.

East Forsyth returns to action on Friday night, with it’s third conference road game of the week at Southwest Guilford. The Eagles close out their regular season next week with home games against Ragsdale (Tuesday) & Northwest Guilford (Friday).
