Ragsdale runner Sarah Platek breaking records everywhere she turns:Fastest 9th grader in the Nation in the 3,000 meters(Fastest ever from Guilford County)

Sara Platek, A freshman at Ragsdale High School and running with the Greensboro Pacesetters Track Club finished 2nd at the UCS Collegiate Invitational in the 3,000 meters. Over 25 colleges from around the Southeast competed at the meet.

Her time was the fastest in the nation for a 9th grader with a 9:59.62 and the 11th fastest time in the nation for any high school athlete. Platek’s time was also the fastest ever run by a Guilford county athlete in the 3000 meters or the 3200 meter comparable time. Her next indoor meet will be the New Balance National High School Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Armory Track in New York City.
