REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THE FIRST TEE OF THE TRIAD SPRING PROGRAMS

Salem Glen Programming Moved to Tanglewood Park

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Registration is now open for spring programming from The First Tee of the Triad, and the establishment is consolidating its programming in western Forsyth County, the organization announced today. The First Tee of the Triad teaches young people, ages 7 to 18, positive and effective life skills utilizing the great game of golf.

The eight-week spring session begins on March 24 with classes offered throughout the Piedmont Triad in Burlington, Clemmons, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown and Winston-Salem. Both new and returning students are required to go through the online registration process. The First Tee of the Triad also offers a par three league for which a separate signup is required. The spring course manual and spring enrollment guide are both available here: http://www.thefirstteetriad.org/club/scripts/section/section.asp?NS=GPI

The First Tee of the Triad has consolidated its Clemmons operations; programming will no longer be available at Salem Glen Country Club, but all of those classes will now take place at Tanglewood Park. Please refer to the 2014 spring course manual, by clicking on the link above, for all class schedules.

“It seems a little strange to be talking about golf clinics getting started when we still have several inches of snow on the ground,” The First Tee of the Triad CEO Mike Barber said. “But with warmer temperatures expected later this week, that snow will disappear quickly. With the warm air and grass visible again, golfers will want to start hitting balls so it’s time!

“We are so proud of the progress our First Tee kids have made in the last few years, and we are looking forward to making The First Tee of the Triad even better in 2014. With the consolidation of our Clemmons programs, our operations there will be much more efficient allowing us to provide even better programming for our students.”

Registration for The First Tee of the Triad’s eight-week spring programs is open. Classes begin the week of March 25 and are set for 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. The cost for the spring session is $75. A simple registration process and information on scholarships are available at www.thefirstteeetriad.org. Simply click on “registration” to get started; scholarships can be requested during the online registration process.

  1. I am very sad that the consolidation has limited our choices of locations for the First Tee Program. First Tee has been wonderful for my son’s self esteem. But now there are only 2 locations available in Greensboro. One is prohibitively far away and the other is on a Saturday morning and that day is already spoken for with another child’s activities. This consolidation means that my child will not be able to participate with First Tee. I hope you rethink this program schedule and will offer classes at other locations such as Bur-Mil or Rick Murphy driving range.
