Baseball (5-1)

• The Phoenix got stellar starting pitching during its three-game sweep of Wagner over the weekend. All three starters – Michael Elefante, Lucas Bakker and Jake Stalzer – each notched quality starts.
• Stalzer has begun his Elon career by not allowing an earned run in 14.0 innings. He is 2-0 on the mound.
• Elon’s Friday victory over Wagner marked the 500th for the program at the NCAA Division I level.
• The maroon and gold will play five games this week, including hosting the annual Elon Invitational, which will include Saint Joseph’s, High Point and Gardner-Webb.

Men’s Basketball (17-11, 10-3 SoCon)

• Winners of seven straight, Elon closes the regular season this week with three games. Elon takes on Furman tonight at 7 p.m. in Greenville, S.C., before hosting Wofford and Davidson on Thursday and Saturday later in the week.
• The Phoenix is coming off a 66-61 road win at Georgia Southern on Feb. 22. Lucas Troutman scored 20 points in the win and moved into 10th all-time in career scoring, passing Elon legend Clarence “Diffy” Ross.
• Jack Isenbarger enters Monday’s game against Furman tied with Chris Kiger for the most career three-pointers in Elon history (259). Isenbarger is the Southern Conference’s active leader in career threes.

Men’s Tennis (4-2)
Elon at UNC Wilmington, Monday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m., Wilmington, N.C.

Elon vs. Chattanooga, Saturday, March 1, at 12 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

• The Phoenix looks to get back in the win column today against UNC Wilmington when it plays its first of three matches throughout the next six days.
• Elon dropped its first of two matches in Wilmington yesterday, Feb. 23, against future SoCon member East Tennessee State by a score of 4-0. The Buccaneers made quick work of the Phoenix in the sweep to send Elon to just its second loss of the year.
• With Chattanooga coming to the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Saturday, the Phoenix will start its last season of Southern Conference play. Elon will face three SoCon teams before stepping back out of conference for three consecutive non-conference matchups starting March 12 against Campbell.

• The Phoenix went 3-2 last week with all three wins coming at the Phoenix Opening Tournament over the weekend. Elon defeated Niagara, Iona and Saint Joseph’s in its first home outing of the season.
• Head coach Kathy Bocock earned career win No. 290 versus Iona on Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Phoenix’s 10-1 victory over the Gaels. The third-year head coach also improved to 12-3 in home tournaments at the helm of the Phoenix softball program.
• Elon will host its second home tournament of the year this weekend, the Phoenix Softball Clash, from March 1-2. The maroon and gold welcomes the field of Coppin State, Dayton and Presbyterian to Hunt Softball Park.

• The Phoenix put together a dominating 82-59 win over Wofford at home on Saturday to win its sixth straight home game.
• On Saturday, Kelsey Harris reached the 1,000-career point milestone, becoming the 20th player in program history to reach that mark.
• Elon will play its final home game of the season tonight at 7 p.m. in Alumni Gym against Furman.

Women’s Lacrosse (0-3)
Elon v. St. Francis, Saturday, March 1, at 1 p.m., Rhodes Stadium

• Elon continues to improve after playing its first games in over two weeks and making its first true road trip. The Phoenix fell to Liberty, 13-9, on Friday before suffering a 17-7 setback at Virginia Tech Sunday.
• Annie Shenk scored six goals over the weekend, including five at Liberty on Friday, to lead the team in scoring. Molly Garrigan netted four goals at Virginia Tech Sunday and ranks second in scoring for the Phoenix.
• After its original home opener was postponed due to weather, the Phoenix will finally play in Rhodes Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m. Free commemorative miniature lacrosse sticks will be handed out to the first 200 fans.

Women’s Golf
Elon at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic, Sunday-Tuesday, March 1-3, Kiawah Island, S.C.

• Beginning Sunday, the Phoenix will play in its first tournament of the spring, the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic hosted by College of Charleston.
• In four of its five fall events, Elon placed in the top 10.

Women’s Tennis (3-4)
Elon vs. UNC Charlotte, Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
Elon vs. Georgia Southern, Saturday, March 1, at 12 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

• In the midst of a five-game homestead, Elon will look to continue it’s brief winning streak when it welcomes UNC Charlotte and Georgia Southern to the Jimmy Powell Tennis center this week.
• The Phoenix picked up its third-straight victory Saturday, Feb. 22, when it topped Radford 7-0 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Elon was helped to the victory by Bryn Khoury sweeping her singles opponent and Tolley Rice breezing to a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
• Elon begins SoCon play March 1 against Georgia Southern looking to improve upon last year’s already stellar second-place overall finish. A season ago, the Phoenix went 8-2 in conference action, finishing behind College of Charleston, who is now in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in both the regular season and conference tournament standings.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at 2014 Southern Conference Indoor Championships, Saturday-Sunday, March 1-March 2, Winston-Salem, N.C.

• The Elon track and field team will compete at the 2014 Southern Conference Indoor Championships this weekend, March 1-2, at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Phoenix had its best finish at last year’s indoor league championships with a fourth-place standing.
• Sophomore Sydney Griffin broke her own school-record in the 60-meter hurdles at the Virginia Tech Challenge last weekend. The Marietta, Ga., native clocked in a time of 8.56 in the race, breaking her previous mark of 8.60.
• Griffin is also the Phoenix’s lone returning representative that won an indoor conference championship last year after capturing the 60-meters crown in the 2013 SoCon Championships.
