SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon women’s basketball’s Jenifer Rhodes has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball CRONS Freshman of the Week the league announced today, Feb. 25. This marks the third time this season the rookie has won the award.
Rhodes averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over the weekend in two games for the Phoenix. She scored 10 points in an 82-59 win over Wofford on Friday, hitting 5-of-9 shots from the field and pulling down eight rebounds. Rhodes followed that with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds against Furman on Monday. The North Charleston, S.C., native finished the week shooting 57.1 percent from the field and blocked five shots.
Elon will close out the regular season this weekend with games on the road at Chattanooga on Friday, Feb. 28, and Samford on Sunday, March 2.
