There had been some questions about Bill Hayes over the past few days. He hadn’t been at work and missed a few University appearances. The Winston-Salem Journal is reporting that Hayes is stepping down effective Friday.
Bill is 70 years old, well beyond the time he could have easily retired. Winston-Salem State University brought Hayes in to help them transition back to Division II after they had attempted to operate as a Division I school.
Bill did a great job and deserves a well earned rest.
