Here is who we left in the 2014 NCHSAA Playoffs….Started out Wednesday night with 12 teams(6 boys/6 girls) and now we only have four teams still in the hunt for the high school basketball titles/Championships…

Coming up on Friday and we add in our area teams in the morning….

#9 Northern Guilford at #1 Chapel Hill….Chapel Hill is a big hill to climb….They beat their First Round opponent 77-17 and took down their Round Two foe, 59-13….Makes you think you are looking at football scores…NG Nighthawks faced them last year and nearly knocked them off at the East Regionals in Fayetteville, so the Nighthawks know the Tigers….

#5 Wilson Beddingfield at @1 Reidsville

  1. Should be a very good game for the Pirates, the pairing is pretty favorable. Big crowds to be expected as students are getting $3 discounts on their tickets which are being sold during school on Friday.

I suggest going to the Page game if you have no plans. This Page team played with such ability and mental toughness, avenging one of their two loses during the season, that I don’t see them dropping any time soon.

  2. I think Bishop is at the end of the road. No way they beat atkins then WS Prep on friday then beat Cherokee saturday.

  3. Only girls teams that matters around here now are Northern Guilford, Andrews and Soutwest Guilford. I wonder what the polls are going to look like when they come out next time? By the way, how come our player Aliyah Grinage is not on the North South Allstar team when her career numbers are just the same as the ones from this area that was selected?

  4. It is across the state in all classifications. To narrow it down to 10 girls is a task. And all coaches were to have all the information turned in by January 3rd. Are you sure your coach turned in her information?

  5. It is my understanding that Aliyah decided just prior to her senior season that she wanted to play college ball. She was heavily recruited in her earlier years but turned most away because she did not want to play college ball. Now that she has put her name back out there, she is being courted by several schools from D1-D2 at this time.

  6. Really disappointed with Page’s new Maxpreps ranking. They won two playoff games and instead moved down one position in the state and 40 some nationally.

I really don’t agree with it, as North Mecklenburg was a 12 seed in the tournament but ranked higher than us, but there’s no other good rankings.
