Greensboro College Men’s Baseball Pride Drop Series Opener to Piedmont

DEMOREST, GA — The Greensboro College Pride baseball team returned to action on Friday night falling to host Piedmont College 11-3.

The Lions jumped out to an early lead scoring three runs combined in the first two frames of play. The Pride however was able to fight back in top of the third inning to tie the game at 3-3.

Cole Starke got the Pride into scoring position for the first time of the day, then would come around to score their first run off of a Cody York single making the score 3-1 in favor of the Lions. The very next batter for the Pride James Feldman would collect an RBI before York came around to score the tying run following a Blake Throneberg ground out.

After that, the Lions proved to be too much for Greensboro pulling away for the 11-3 victory.

James Feldman took the loss in the game for the Pride tossing four and one third innings. Greensboro College had five hits on the day with two of them coming from Feldman.

With the loss, the Pride falls to 1-6 on the young season and 0-4 in USA South play. The Pride will return to action for game two of the three game series tomorrow afternoon at Piedmont. The first pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
