Baseball Update on some former Western Guilford players and other area players:Jacobelli is back playing ball, Anderson joins the ‘Club’ and for some it is ‘The Pitt/PCC’

Former Western Guilford players are doing great to start the season: Casey Jones at Elon (2nd on team in BA at 0.364 and 1st in RBIs w/10), Macon Smith at Guilford College (BA 0.415), Nin Marrero at UNCG (2nd on team in BA at 0.348).

Local players on Pitt Community College’s baseball team this year:
Mitch Carstens (Ragsdale)
Josiel Colon (Northeast Guilford)
Keaton Haack (Northwest Guilford)

Craig Jacobelli has transferred to Pfeiffer and is playing baseball for the Falcons…Pfeiffer Falcons and he used to play for the Southeast Guilford Falcons…

Keith Anderson(Western Guilford) is playing club baseball at Charlotte and he leads his team in runs and stolen bases…

  1. Way to go Casey, Macon and Nin!

I thought Keaton had a great year at Alabama last year. Anyone know why he transferred?

  2. Transferring to Junior College happens for one of two reasons. Grade issues or player is not happy at current school. Does not have to sit out a year going Juco and also can be drafted in the next draft.

No idea which of the two applies to Keaton.
