College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Redlands 17, Guilford 16

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Dulce Moll scored the game-winning goal with 6.7 seconds left in the University of Redlands’ 17-16 lacrosse win at Guilford College Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (5-2) led for most of the game and held a five-goal lead with 21:11 left to play. The Quakers (1-1) gradually chipped away and finally tied the game at 16-16 when Becca Colley scored with 4:48 remaining.

Guilford won the ensuing draw and Colley got off another shot, but Redlands goalie Gigja Hollyday made the save, her 10th of the game. The teams traded possessions before the Bulldogs cleared the ball and set up on offense. Moll had a free-position shot sail high with 39 seconds left, but Redlands maintained possession and got the ball to Stephanie Garrett, who fed Moll a quick inside pass and the rookie zipped in the game-winner from close range.

The Bulldogs built a 12-6 first-half lead before Guilford netted three goals in the final 1:43 of the period. KK McCaslin scored four of her game-high five goals in the first half and teammate Jacky Craycraft added three of her four tallies and added an assist.

Craycraft and Moll opened the second-half scoring with consecutive goals, but the Quakers started dominating the draws, which helped them chip away. Colley, Eleanora Keene and E’leyna Garcia all scored twice in a 7-2 run that was capped by Colley’s game-tying score.

Garrett led Redlands’ offense with three goals and four assists. McCaslin added an assist to her five goals for a six points. Moll scored four times and Craycraft finished with four goals and an assist. Craycraft and Garrett both won a club-high four ground balls.

Lily Colley scored a team-high six points for Guilford on four goals and two assists. Her sister, Becca, added five on three goals and two helpers. Garcia finished with four goals and a game-high nine draw controls. Keene scored three times, and added one assist, eight draw controls, a game-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sammi Milbourn made seven saves in goal.

The Quakers play host to Greensboro College Wednesday (3/5) at 7:00 p.m. at Appenzeller Field in the Armfield Athletic Center.
