Powerade State Games High School Baseball Coaches Announced
Registration is open and tryouts are scheduled to begin

DURHAM, North Carolina, March 5, 2014 – The Powerade State Games High School Baseball Showcase will take place June 18-22 at UNC Charlotte, BB&T Ballpark (new Charlotte Knights Stadium) and Hopewell High School. The High School Baseball Showcase pits the best 20 underclassmen players from eight North Carolina regions against each other to battle it out in front of over 80 college and professional scouts for the gold, silver and bronze medals.

The coaches have been selected for each regional team and are listed below with their high school in parentheses and the head coach listed first:
Region 1 – Ryan Meadows (N. Pitt), Jason Mills (DH Conley), Ryan Whitney (Washington), Corey Skinner (Ayden-Grifton)
Region 2 – Jackson Massey (Southern Wayne), Richard Foy (New Hanover), Cal Parker (Wallace-Rose Hill), Jason Wade (Parrott Academy)
Region 3 –Greg Clifton (Faith Christian), Jon Smith (Hunt), Pete Tuck (Roxboro Community), Leonard Allen (Northern Nash)

The Powerade State Games of North Carolina is gearing up for another year of exciting competition in the Charlotte region. The 28th annual Powerade State Games begin on May 31st and conclude on June 29th and covers the entirety of Mecklenburg County and beyond, with competitions taking place in Mooresville, Huntersville, Cornelius, Cramerton, Charlotte, Indian Trail, Pineville, Concord and Matthews. The 2014 Opening Ceremonies will be held June 20 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. The Opening Ceremonies feature a commemorative gift for participating athletes, inflatables, games, music, a parade of athletes and a lighting of the cauldron to announce the official start to the 2014 Powerade State Games of North Carolina.
