Greensboro College Pride Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC—The Greensboro College women’s lacrosse team dropped their second straight game of the season against cross town rival Guilford on Thursday afternoon. The Pride fell 23-12 despite getting seven goals from Kirstin Norris.

Guilford got on the board fist only twenty seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead before Norris tallied her first goal of the game bringing the score even at 1-1. Once Greensboro tied the game, Guilford was able to rattle off six straight goals taking a 7-1 lead.

Greensboro was able to climb right back into the game with five straight goals to pull within one at 6-1 with 5:12 to play in the first half. During the run Nadaya Fedun, Alexa Besch, Ashlynn Parks, and Norris each tallied goals. After the Pride run , the Quakers scored two more times before Kelsey Cenate found the net for the final time in the half to go in the intermission down 9-7.

Guilford scored 14 times in the second half to pull away for the win. Greensboro College was able to find the back of the net five times with Amira Khatib scoring one along with four from Norris.

With the loss, the Pride falls to 2-3 overall on the season, and will return to action this weekend when they welcome USA South foe LaGrange to Pride Field. The first draw is set for 3:00 PM. For the latest in Pride athletics continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
