Baseball (10-5)
Elon vs. UMBC, Monday, March 10, at 4 p.m., Latham Park
Elon vs. Liberty, Tuesday, March 11, at 5 p.m., Latham Park
Elon vs. Georgia Southern, Friday-Sunday, March 14-16, at 6 / 4 / 1:30 p.m., Latham Park

• In three games at the Chanticleer Classic, Elon pitchers combined to walk just two hitters – the fewest on any three-game weekend series since the Phoenix joined the SoCon in 2004.
• Two-time Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week Jake Stalzer saw his streak of not allowing an earned run end at 23.1 innings when he allowed one earned run in the first inning against Coastal Carolina on Sunday.
• The Phoenix will play five games this week, including hosting UMBC on Monday at 4 p.m. in a game that was added to the schedule.
• Elon will open up its final season of Southern Conference play this weekend by hosting Georgia Southern. The maroon and gold is 8-2 in its previous 10 SoCon openers.

Men’s Golf
Elon at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, Monday-Tuesday, March 10-11, Aiken, S.C.

• Coming off of a tie for seventh place at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, the Elon men’s golf team will play its second spring event of the year this week.
• The Phoenix was led by Will DiIanni’s fourth-place tie at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate. Two Elon golfers finished in the top 10 of the first spring event.

Men’s Tennis (8-3, 3-0)
Elon vs. Campbell, Wednesday, March 12, at 2 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
Elon at Winthrop, Friday, March 14, at 2 p.m., Rock Hill, S.C.
Elon vs. Radford, Sunday, March 16, at 1 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

• Following three straight SoCon matches, the men’s tennis team will step back out of conference action to take on Campbell, Winthrop and Radford this week.
• Elon is riding a four-match winning streak that was extended yesterday, March 9, with a 6-1 victory at home over the Davidson Wildcats. Cameron Silverman, Juan Madrid, Stefan Fortmann and Jordan Kaufman each breezed to a singles victory while none of the four players dropped more than four games in his respective match.
• Currently, Elon is ranked No. 46 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national polls while Silverman is tied for No. 26 in the country with Texas A&M’s Shane Vinsant. New polls will be released tomorrow, March 11.

Softball (15-5-1)
Elon vs. Syracuse, Tuesday, March 11, at 5:30 p.m., Hunt Softball Park
Elon at Western Carolina, Saturday-Sunday, March 15-16, Cullowhee, N.C.

• Elon will host Syracuse for the first time as the Phoenix and the Orange meet in an early week contest at Hunt Softball Park on Tuesday, March 11. The Phoenix then opens Southern Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at league foe Western Carolina on March 15-16.
• The Phoenix has won seven in a row and eight out of its last nine after defeating Towson and Radford on Sunday, March 9, in a pair of 3-2 victories. Elon has also won 10 out of its 12 games during its current 13-game home stand that ends on Tuesday versus the Orange.
• Last Monday, March 3, senior Carleigh Nester was named the SoCon’s Player of the Week for the third time in her career. It is also the second time this season that Elon has earned the conference’s weekly accolade, joining sophomore Emily Cameron who was honored on Feb. 10.

Women’s Lacrosse (3-3, 1-0)
Elon at #1 North Carolina, Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m., Chapel Hill, N.C.
Elon at Campbell, Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m., Buies Creek, N.C.

• The Phoenix posted its third straight win with a 12-10 victory at Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Olivia Fernandez and Sydney Hesselbein both scored three goals in the game.
• Elon will spend this week playing two in-state opponents at reigning national champion and top-ranked North Carolina before traveling to face Campbell.
• Last week, Sloane Kessler earned Elon’s first A-Sun Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week award after registering six points with five goals and an assist in the team’s 16-7 win over Saint Francis. The Owings Mill, Md., native took seven shots in the game, all on frame, and also tallied two ground balls and a draw control in the victory.

Women’s Golf
Elon at JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational, Friday-Sunday, March 14-16, Jacksonville, Fla.

• The Phoenix women’s golf team will participate in its second spring tournament of the year by traveling to Florida for the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational.
• Elon finished 10th out of 36 teams in its first tournament of the season – the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic.
• In the team’s last event, Sunna Vidisdottir tied for 17th out of 192 players to lead Elon.

Women’s Tennis (6-4, 1-0)
Elon vs. Gardner-Webb, Tuesday, March 11, at 2:30 p.m., Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
Elon at Davidson, Saturday, March 15, at 1 p.m., Davidson, N.C.
Elon at Wake Forest, Sunday, March 16, at 4 p.m., Winston-Salem, N.C.

• The women’s tennis team will finish its nonconference slate this week with two matches against Gardner-Webb and Wake Forest. Sandwiched between the two matches is a SoCon match on the road against Davidson.
• Elon’s lone match last week came on the road Thursday, March 6, in Greenville, N.C. against the East Carolina Pirates. Playing indoors due to inclement weather, Elon earned the doubles point, then swept the first three singles matches on court Nos. 1, 2 and 3 to top the Pirates.
• The Phoenix has won six matches in a row since dropping their first four matches of the season. Of those six matches, five of them have come via a sweep. Elon has swept its last four matches.

Women’s Track and Field
Elon at UNC Wilmington Invitational, Friday-Saturday, March 14-15, Wilmington, N.C.

• The Elon track and field program opens its 2014 outdoor campaign on Friday, March 14, at the UNC Wilmington Invitational.
• The Phoenix scored its highest point total ever at the 2014 Southern Conference Indoor Championships on March 1-2. Elon tallied 88 points and had a pair of conference champions at the meet.
• Senior Allyson Oram earned the 3,000-meters title with a school-record time of 9:34.97, breaking her previous mark by nearly seven seconds. Sophomore Sydney Griffin captured her second consecutive 60-meters league title with a time of 8.60 in the finals.
• Elon has two returning conference champions from last year’s outdoor season in junior Suzanne Martin (javelin) and senior Kimberlyn Holt (hammer throw). The Phoenix also sent an athlete to the NCAA Preliminary round for the first time since 2011 last year.
