The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament on the Radio for 2014

The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament is at the Greensboro Coliseum this week and as we do every year, let’s take a look at the radio stations that will be carrying/covering the tournament this year….

Radio coverage for the 2014 ACC Tournament in Greensboro(Wire-to-wire hoops on 94.5 FM ???)
*****Here is a LISTEN LIVE link to 94.5 and if they have wall-to-wall coverage for Thursday you can sure try it out….Many times the colleges don’t allow web streaming by the stations’ web sites because they want the listeners to tune into the radio….Found that out the hard way trying to catch WSJS 600 inside a resturant last year, so I could catch an N.C. State game, but to no avail, streaming was not allowed….Give it a try though and you might be in for good luck….*****

94.5 did not have Wednesday daytime coverage…..Called the station and got a busy signal…Will check on them again tonight and tomorrow…They were the ones that had it all in the past….If Dave Nathan is out there, maybe he will contact us and drop the bomb and let us know what is going on for the Tar HeeL Sports Network this week…..

*****In previous years we found that they did have Baseline-to-baseline coverage on RUSH Radio 94.5 FM, with the Tar Heel Sports Network….Starting with Jones Angell, Eric Montross and Dave Nathan at 11am on Day One, with Thursday pre-games from the Greensboro Coliseum….*****
+++++Remember all North Carolina Tar Heel games on RUSH Radio 94.5FM….+++++

Some of the history surrounding previous years of the ACC Tournament on radio:

Who was your favorite radio announcer????? Back in the day you had Woody Durham and Mick Mixon doing all the games of the ACC men’s basketball tournament, going wire-to-wire, Thursday through Sunday.

The same could be said for Duke with Bob Harris and Danny Highsmith/Mike Waters, Wake had Gene Overby and Glen Scott, and N.C. State’s Wally Ausley and Gary Dornberg. All the schools were doing all the games for UNC, Duke, Wake and State. The announcers called them all, from start to finish.(Not any more, as things have changed.)

*****Those ‘WERE’ the days.*****

  1. Added some links and you can give them a shot…Will depend on School if they are allowing streaming on the stations’ web sites…..More details in the post….

  2. It doesn’t really matter now that they are out, but both wake games were on 1340, wherever that is out of.
