Early Struggles Doom Greensboro College Pride Men’s Lacrossse Against Oswego State

GREENSBORO, NC—The Greensboro College men’s lacrosse team fell to Oswego State at Pride Field on Tuesday afternoon by a 15-3 score.

The Pride was held off of the board in the first half of play, and fell behind 5-0 after one period of play. As the second quarter started Oswego was able to tally once more before Greensboro was able to find the back of the net. Tracy Armstrong got the Pride to within 6-1 with 10:56 left in the quarter before the Lakers scored two unanswered to extend their lead out to 8-1.

The Pride however did not give up, scoring twice over a 90 second span to pull within 8-3. Dennis Radcliffe scored the first of the two goals before Brodie Ceperich took a feed from Jaegar Carlyle for the Pride’s finally tally of the game.

Over the remainder of the game, the Pride was not able to get anything going on the offensive side of the field as Oswego was able to score the game’s final seven goals en route to the 15-3 victory.

Greensboro College led the shots category on the day by a narrow 33-30 margin with Blaine Wise leading the way with nine shots. Long pole player Wyatt Clay led the green and white in the game picking up a team high seven ground balls.

Three goalkeepers saw action on the day as all three of them recored atleast one stop in the game. Jesse Duczeminsky took the loss in the net while stopping one shot along with Matt Dittemore. Joe Della led Greensboro in the net making three saves on the day in just 33:30 minutes of play.

With the loss, the Pride drop their overall record to 1-6 on the season and will return to action on Saturday afternoon as the return on the road.
