College Women’s Lacrosse News – Guilford’s Colley Repeats as ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Guilford College senior Lily Colley (Wells, Maine/Wells (Clark)) earned her second straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Lacrosse Player of the Week Award Monday. She has won the honor twice this season and four times in her career.

Colley, a 5-5 attacker, paced the Quakers to a pair of ODAC wins with 16 points on eight goals and eight assists. She scored on four-of-six free-position shots, picked up five ground balls, collected four draw controls and forced two turnovers. Colley had five goals, three assists and five ground balls in Guilford’s 19-7 win over visiting Randolph College Mar. 19. Her eight points shared game-high scoring honors with teammate E’leyna Garcia, who also scored five goals and three assists. Colley set Guilford’s career assists record in the win and moved into second place on the school’s all-time points list.

Three days later Colley scored three times and had five helpers in Guilford’s 16-7 home win over Virginia Wesleyan College. She had two goals and three assists in the first half to help the Quakers open a 12-0 halftime lead.

Colley leads the ODAC with 52 points on 28 goals and a league-best 24 assists. She stands fifth among this week’s NCAA Division III leaders with 7.43 points per game. Colley also ranks eighth nationally in assists and assists per game (3.43). She ranks second only to Garcia in Guilford history with 241 career points on 148 goals and 93 assists in just over three seasons.

Coach Sarah Lamphier’s Quakers (5-2, 3-0 ODAC) take a three-game winning streak into Thursday’s (3/27) contest with visiting Farmingdale State College and host league-foe Sweet Briar College Saturday (3/29) at 1:00 p.m.
