  1. I have to agree, Burnett should have easily been first team. Congrats to her, Paris and Imani.

  2. Have to disagree with you on that page pirate. Some girls in this area, guilford county area don’t have a PR machine in place to help get them even considered even though they are worthy.

  3. Page Pirate, absolutely not! Watkins could have easily made second or third team, the fact that she led her team to a state championship, was the stae championship MVP, as well as Regional MVP, made the all Christmas tournament team aas well as conf POY two years in a row, should say something. Burnett is also a good choice from this area. Kea is not the only talented female basketball player in this area. But then again judging by your name, I expect you to be biased.

  4. Some I you guys have to be kidding!! Burnette is a really good player but in order for her to make first team all state then that means you would have to take off another player. Now for those of you who have never seen Azura Stevens, Stephanie Watts or Rachel Camp play then you wouldn’t realize that there is know way for her to do that. The other girls on that all state 1st team are Monsters on the court!! So how do you just assume that she gets to bump those other players with better numbers and accomplishments!! Some times I don’t think y’all listen to the stuff that comes out of y’all mouths. Just because someone is the best player in you’re city dosent mean that automatically makes them the best players in the state. Now Burnette is more than deserving of being on that 2nd team. She had a great season and a phenomenal career. I’m extremely happy for her.

  5. Accomplishments for Shay, try this :district 6 POY 2012 and 2014-district 6 first team 2013- times news POY 2013 and 2014,McDonald’s all American nominee 2014,NC allstar team 2014, 2,147 career points, Metro player of the year 2013 and then some. That’s the real deal! P.s 2014 metro conference champs!

  6. Next year will tell the tale with athletes, the next level is no joke and you can take all your high school accomplishments and put them on the shelf where they belong. Wishing them all the best, but some will experience a harsh reality check.
