Southwest Guilford at Ragsdale Baseball Tonight with “vs.Cancer Foundation” fundraiser after the game:A whole lot of ‘head shaving’ going on!!!

Really big game, Piedmont Triad Conference game in Jamestown tonight, as Southwest Guilford visits Ragsdale. Matt Horkey is expected to start for the Tigers and Zach Saylor is the probable for Southwest. The two teams met earlier and Saylor got the win, limiting the Tigers to four hits and one run. Both teams are 1 – 2 in Conference play and are in need of a win in this big matchup.

Probably even more importantly, after the game the two teams’ players and coaches will have their heads shaved as part of a fundraiser for the “vs.Cancer Foundation”. The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving kids’ lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. The founder of the organization is Chase Jones, a Ragsdale High School graduate who is also a cancer survivor. Chase has been cancer free for six years after battling the disease while a student at the University of North Carolina. Athletes from both Ragsdale and Southwest have been raising money for the Foundation by getting sponsors to donate for them getting their heads shaved.

Ragsdale has raised over $9,500 currently in support of this event. You can find out more about the organization by visiting www.vs-cancer.org and you can make a donation to support the Tigers by visiting:
