We will all have an ‘Ultimate Ending’:Ultimate Warrior(Jim Hellwig) dead at age 54

I watched Ultimate Warrior back when he was ‘The Dingo Warrior’ in World Class Championship Wrestling from Texas…He would meet opponents such as Cactus Jack Manson/Mick Foley….I saw Warrior even before then when he was the tag-team partner of Sting in the NWA and it later became World Class Wrestling….Sting and Warrior were a very tight tag-team…..Warrior had the mind of deep-thinker and he was moved in a political direction…Went by the name Blade Runners if I’m not mistaken….

The real crazy thing is he was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, this past Saturday night….He had been waiting for years to get in and there had been talk for many years on when he might get the nod, and he did and he is done/gone, just three days later….

Time to get ready brothers and sisters, the train is at the station…..Better be ready and have that ticket for the next ride….

One of the key words about Warrior and I think it describes him best, Different…..Different indeed and that is what I liked about him…

He had his name changed legally to ‘Warrior’, from James Hellwig, a few years back…..

from Jason Powell and staff at www.prowrestling.net:

Ultimate Warrior died at age 54 on Tuesday, according to a statement released by WWE. The cause of death was not revealed. TMZ reported that Warrior “cluthced his chest” and collapsed and died while walking to his car with his wife outside an Arizona hotel. He was the WWE Hall of Fame headliner on Saturday, appeared at WrestleMania 30 on Sunday, and on WWE Raw on Monday.

from Ultimate Warrior on Monday Night Raw’s April 7 porgram and from wikipedia:

No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. I am Ultimate Warrior. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans. And the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!

He died less than 24 hours after his Raw appearance

  1. He was always my favorite wrestler. Probably no coincidence that I quit watching shortly after his departure. R.I.P to ” in my opinion ” the most entertaining wrestler to ever live. He was truly one of a kind and I pray for his wife and two daughters.

  2. There is no dobut, he was one of a kind….

And I know Lugnut remebers the days of “There is no doubting Jeff Van Houten”…Good combo at the plate with Gabby Sanchez….(Brings back some good memories.)

RIP to ‘The Warrior’….Crazy timing on his ending and we can not determine our ‘Time of Departure’…..

  3. first saw him in the Bill Watts’ Mid-South Wrestling, which became the UWF, which was eventually bought out by Crockett Promotions. yes he was in a tag team with Sting, and they were the Blade Runners, managed by the late Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert. Funny thing, now only Sting remains. Warrior re-unites with WWF just as Sting is signing of with WWF and now this. Wow, just shows you never know. RIP Warrior.
