College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Mary Washington 21, Guilford 14

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Jenna Petrucelli scored six goals and an assist in the University of Mary Washington’s 21-14 lacrosse victory over visiting Guilford College Sunday.

The Eagles (10-4) outscored Guilford, 6-2, in the final 14 minutes to send the Quakers to their second loss in as many days. Petrucelli scored twice and had an assist in the closing run. She scored four times in the second half to help Mary Washington outscore the Quakers, 11-8, after halftime.

Corinne Wiederkehr contributed four goals and two assists for the Eagles, who enjoyed a 34-28 edge in shots. Katie Williams and Emily Atkinson also scored four times for the hosts. Petrucelli paced the Eagles with four ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls. Taylor Paige went the distance in goal and made eight saves.

E’leyna Garcia and Eleanora Keene both scored five goals and an assist for Guilford (9-4). Lily Colley chipped in with three scores and four assists. Keene and Becca Colley combined for 15 of Guilford’s draw controls in the match. Rookie Sammi Milbourn made six saves and three ground balls in the contest.

Coach Sarah Lamphier’s Quakers resume Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Wednesday (4/16) at Lynchburg College.
