Elon Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Nation’s Capitol to Take on Bison Saturday

ELON, N.C. – After finishing the home portion of its schedule a perfect 5-0, the Elon women’s lacrosse team goes back on the road this week for an Atlantic Sun game at Howard on Saturday, April 19. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. at Greene Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Looking Back
The Phoenix improved to 2-0 in A-Sun play after a strong 18-7 win over Kennesaw State last Sunday. The final tally of 18 goals for the maroon and gold tied the program record for goals scored in a single game as Molly Garrigan set a new program record and career high with six goals. The win capped the inaugural 2014 season at home for Elon as the Phoenix won all five of its games in Rhodes Stadium.

The A-Sun Picture
With every team having played at least two A-Sun games, Elon sits in second with a 2-0 record. Reigning league champion Jacksonville leads the league with a 3-0 mark. Stetson is third with a .500 record at 1-1, followed by Detroit (1-2), Kennesaw State (1-3) and Howard (0-2).

Looking Ahead
Elon will make its final road trip of the regular season next weekend when it travels to Florida for two conference games. The Phoenix will play at Stetson on Friday, April 25, before taking on defending league champion Jacksonville on Sunday, April 27.
