LADY VILLAINS COACH BRIAN ROBINSON RETURNS TO BENCH FOR USA BASKETBALL

After helping the U-16 national team to a gold medal in the 2013 FIBA America’s Tournament event in Cancun, Mexico, Lady Villain Coach Brian Robinson will return to the bench with USA basketball this summer as part of the U-17 World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Coach Robinson will be reunited with head coach Sue Phillips and fellow assistant Mary Coyle Klinger who comprised the gold medal winning staff from last year in Mexico.

“Having the opportunity to again work with Sue and Mary is a wonderful feeling,” Robinson said. “Mary and I understand how Sue wants certain things done and the pace at which she wants those things to be taught, which should allow us to be more efficient with our time in practices. Knowing that we have that familiarity and chemistry from a coaching standpoint going into this year’s trials, and eventually the team setting, will serve us well as we work towards winning gold at the world championship.”

Tryouts for the 12 person roster will be held at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado from May 22-26. The event it self will take place from June 28 through July 6th. The US will be looking to capture its third consecutive gold medal in this event.
