College Women’s Tennis Final – #20 Washington and Lee 5, Guilford 0

LEXINGTON, Va. – Top-seeded Washington and Lee University claimed a 5-0 decision over number-eighth Guilford College Saturday in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinals.

The Generals (15-2), ranked 20th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s NCAA Division III Poll, swept the three doubles matches by identical 8-0 scores. Patricia Kirkland and Chelsea Mixson posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at second and third singles, respectively, to seal the win.

Washington and Lee advances to play Bridgewater College, a 5-2 winner over Randolph College in another quarterfinal contest.
Coach Dave McCain’s Quakers finish the 2013-14 season with a 6-11 overall record.
