Looking Back
Elon extended its conference-winning streak to a perfect 3-0 after a 19-7 victory over Howard last weekend. The 19 goals set a new single-game high for the team as the Phoenix saw scores from nine different players, including four goals from both Olivia Fernandez and Anna Vitton. On defense, Megan Griffin led the way on defense with a game-high three caused turnovers and four ground balls, while also scoring the first goal of her career.

Weekend Opponents
After winning its first conference game of the season, Stetson has struggled to win its last two contests. The Hatters fell to Detroit, 11-6, last weekend on the road and return home for its final two games. Jacksonville is the reigning conference champions and holds a perfect A-Sun record like the Phoenix. Sunday’s regular-season finale has the potential to see a match-up of conference unbeaten. Both teams have a conference game prior to Sunday, but the game will likely determine the top seed for the upcoming A-Sun championship.

The A-Sun Picture
Elon and Jacksonville are tied atop the standings with both team’s holding a 3-0 record. The maroon and gold’s win last weekend clinched a spot in the Atlantic Sun Championship for both the Phoenix and the Dolphins. The top four teams in the conference will make the tournament that will see two games on Friday, May 2, and the championship game on Sunday, May 4.

Looking Ahead
The Phoenix returns to Jacksonville after a few days absence next weekend for the Atlantic Sun Women’s Lacrosse Championship on May 2-4. Elon will find out its seeding and opponent once all conference games are completed this weekend.
