Turner Votipka 2015

Votipka, the Quakers’ captain, recorded a 12-9 overall singles record and was 7-3 in league matches. He led Guilford and ranked fifth in the league in singles wins. Votipka also paced the Quakers in doubles triumphs with a 13-8 overall mark. He paired with Meiler to go 11-7 at first doubles, including 7-3 in league contests. Votipka logged a 25-17 combined record (singles and doubles), which led the team. He won in both singles and doubles a team-best nine times, including in Guilford’s narrow 5-4 ODAC Tournament upset of third-seeded Randolph-Macon College.

A 2012 First Team All-ODAC selection at second doubles and a 2013 Third Team All-ODAC pick at first singles, Votipka owns a 32-29 career singles mark in two Guilford campaigns and is 34-27 in doubles action.

Meiler recorded a 5-13 singles record, and was 3-5 in league matches. His overall doubles record was 11-8, 7-3 in the ODAC. He won both singles and doubles matches three times, each time versus league rivals.
Coach Dave McCain’s team posted a 7-11 overall record (5-5 ODAC) and shared third place in the league’s postseason tournament. McCain may return as many as 12 letter winners next season, including Votipka and Meiler.
