Coach Scandrett leads Guilford County Home School Girls Basketball Team to National Title

He can be known as Coach Scandrett or as Dr. Alfonso Scandrett, but the most important thing Alfonso Scandrett does is lead young people…

Dr. Scandrett is the head coach of the Guilford County Girls and Boys Home School basketball teams and Coach Scandrett just led his girls to the National Title back in March, up in Lynchburg, Virginia, at Liberty University….

The Guilford County Home School Girls are National Champions and Coach Scandrett took the girls to the title amongst a field of 64 teams up on Lynchburg.

Coach Scandrett’s young ladies from Guilford County entered the tournament as the the #7 seed and then the Guilford Home School team proceeded to win six games, while beating teams from Virginia, Georgia, Maryland and even the #2 seed from Knoxville, Tennessee along the way to their title…

As we mentioned above, Coach Scandrett is also in charge of the Guilford Home School Boys team and he has been named Home School Coach of the Year and with that honor coming his way, Coach Scandrett has been named the coach of the West squad in the Boys 2014, NCHEAC Basketball All-Star Game…Thinking that the NCHEAC, might be the North Carolina Home Educators Athletic Conference…Just thinking that…

  1. Not sure on that one…..It is usually out by Easter Sunday at the latest, but with new Sport Editor on hand, not sure of the plan…Might be going in a different direction in that area(basketball) for this season only and then come back to it next year…

Not sure of the plan right now, but you should contact Joe Sirera the new man in charge at the News and Record Sports Department….

  2. Great job, GC girls! Congrats on achieving the 2014 Varsity Girls Grand Champion title! Dr./Coach Scandrett has once again led with his intense coaching style and pervasive attitude toward winning!
