ELON — Solid pitching for Western Alamance’s baseball team turned dominant in a couple of instances when the Warriors were in a bind Wednesday night.
Breydan Gorham’s strong starting performance and Blake Deatherage’s stellar relief effort were enough to hold off visiting Western Guilford in a 4-2 result to open the Class 3-A state playoffs.
