HPU Baseball Finishes Sweep Of UNC Asheville With 9-2 Win

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University baseball team completed its sweep of UNC Asheville with a 9-2 win over the Bulldogs in the second game of the doubleheader between the two teams on Saturday afternoon at Williard Stadium.

“I am proud of this team and especially these seniors,” head coach Craig Cozart said. “To finish out the regular season with a sweep here at home is tremendous. This has been arguably the best regular season we have had here at the Div. I level. We did what we needed to do this weekend to get ourselves prepared for the Big South Championship. I like where we are at and think we are poised to make a great run at it.”

With the win over the Bulldogs, High Point finishes with 2014 regular season with a 31-20 overall record and a 17-9 record in Big South play. The 31 wins by the Panthers match the HPU Div.
