The Davidson County Warrirors Post 8 Legion team has 4 players from Northwest Guilford who have been there with the team from the beginning…Christian Dix, Marcus Shoemaker, Colson Everett, and Jesse Juday…and they are off to a great start.

The Warriors are 7-3, having beaten Kernersville (with lots of Piedmont Triad 4-A players) and Randolph County (with lots of Grimsley kids and Clay Young from Caldwell) in back to back nights this week.

“Oh, my gosh,” said Dix after slashing a game-winning single with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, propelling the Davidson County Warriors American Legion team to an exciting 8-7 victory over Randolph County on Tuesday evening at Holt-Moffitt Field.

“Clay has been a friend of mine for a long time,” said Dix, who played high school ball for Northwest Guilford — and has signed with Brevard — while Young played for Caldwell Academy. “We’ve played on the same teams before and he knew I could hit fastballs and so I was expecting a curveball. And that’s what I got. I just took advantage of it.”
