Kernersville Post 36 takes down Eastern Randolph Post 81 with Seth Arrington reporting(Box Score now available)

Offense aplenty in Eastern Randolph Post 81’s 12-8 loss to Kernersville Post 36

Eastern Randolph Post 81 fell 12-8 to Kernersville Post 36 on Saturday at Eastern Randolph High School despite racking up 10 hits and eight runs.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 was led by Zach Burke’s hitting. Zach went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.

Even though Eric Corlett allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory. Eric struck out two, walked two and gave up six hits.

Drew Wilson, Jacob Nester, Zach Scudder and Donnie Sellers helped lead Kernersville Post 36. They combined for 10 hits and six RBIs.

Michael Milian couldn’t get it done on the hill for Eastern Randolph Post 81, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Eastern Randolph Post 81 got things going when Zach Burke singled. A single by Zack Canada then moved Zach from first to second. Eastern Randolph Post 81 then tacked on more runs when Canada scored on an RBI single by Derek Bolhuis, Gardner and Koenig scored on a two-run double by Nathan Poirier, and Bolhuis scored on an error.

The lead stayed with Kernersville Post 36 after the second, when it scored seven runs on a two-run double by Zach , two errors, a groundout by Mason Striplin, and an RBI single by Jacob.

After posting two runs in the third, Kernersville Post 36 again scored two in the fifth. In the third, Kernersville Post 36 scored on an error, scoring Donnie.

A single by Zach ignited the offense,, plating Jacob. That was followed up by Mason’s single, bringing home Drew.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut its deficit to three. A single by Zach, an RBI single by Bryson Beck, and an RBI single by Nick McNeil fueled Eastern Randolph Post 81’s comeback. But, Stephen Hemrick got Dallas Kivett to strike out to end the inning.
