Nick McNeil collected three hits, helping Eastern Randolph Post 81 to a 9-5 victory over Davidson County Post eight on Monday at Holt Moffitt Field.

He singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Tommy Michaels recorded the win for Eastern Randolph Post 81. He allowed three runs over 6 innings. Tommy struck out three, walked two and gave up six hits.

Bubba White was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 7 innings, walked two and struck out one.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Caleb Smith and an RBI single by Devin Sweet.

Davidson County Post eight tallied one run in each of the first, third, fifth, eighth, and ninth. In the first, Davidson County Post eight scored on an RBI double by Colson Everett, plating Christian Dix.

An RBI single by Christian Dix triggered Davidson County Post eight’s comeback. But, Tommy Michaels got Colson Everett to strike out to end the inning.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 tacked on another two runs in the fifth. Michael Matthews started the inning with a single, scoring Devin Sweet.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, Davidson County Post eight faced just a 6-3 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Christian Dix sparked Davidson County Post eight’s rally. Finally, Tommy Michaels induced an inning-ending ground out from Colson Everett.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 piled on three more runs in the top of the eighth. Zach Burke kicked things off with a single, plating Michael Matthews.

An one-run eighth inning helped bring Davidson County Post eight within five. An RBI single by John Hanes gave Davidson County Post eight life.
