Greenville, N.C. — East Carolina has decided not to renew head baseball coach Billy Godwin’s contract after nine years with the program.

The Pirates finished 33-26 (16-14 C-USA) this season and failed to make the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season. ECU has not finished higher than third in their conference since 2009 – when Godwin won the C-USA Coach of the Year.

Godwin, who succeeded Randy Mazey in 2006, posted a 317-215-1 (.596) record at ECU, which includes five NCAA Regional appearances.
