Update on Davidson County Post 8 with Warriors continuing their ‘Winning Ways’

Christian Dix(Northwest Guilford HS) went 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBIs to lead Post 8 to an easy 12-2 victory in seven innings over Mocksville-Davie Post 54 at Holt-Moffitt Field. Horrell tossed six innings and allowed eight hits — with half of those coming in the fourth inning — to secure the win.

The Warriors certainly hit it up and down the lineup Tuesday. Marcus Shoemaker(Northwest Guilford High School) led off the bottom of the first with a line drive to center, stole second, moved to third on a groundout and scored on Dix’s line drive sacrifice fly to center.

Pitcher Michael Horrell worked quickly and efficiently for Davidson County American Legion Post 8 on Tuesday.

The way the Warriors were hitting, that’s all Horrell needed to do.

“Horrell’s really matured as a pitcher,” Post 8 coach Dale Moser said, as his squad improved to 12-6. “He had a good high school year.
