CVCL All-Star Game will have local flavor:Contest coming up this Saturday at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory

Carolinas Virginia Summer Collegiate League All-Star Baseball Game:

The Carolina Virginia Summer Collegiate League will have it’s annual All Star game this Saturday at LP Frans Stadium home of the Hickory Crawdads.

The game begins at 6:15 with the professional workout for the all stars beginning at 3PM. The 2014 game will have a huge local feel to it!

Dustin Ijames, head coach of first place Kernersville Bulldogs 31-8 will be the head coach of the Grey squad. His assistant will be former Guilford college star, Joe John head coach of the Carolina Pirates. Kernersville has seven players in the game all with local ties. Ray Crawford and Brandon Burkes former Dudley performers, catcher TJ Wharton, GTCC, Shane Billings former Glenn standout, Brennen James pitcher at UNCG, Alex Embler a pitcher and High Point resident, along with Kevin Jordan from Wake Forest University will represent the first place Bulldogs. Other performers with local ties will also be in the game Tyler Peterson of Guilford College, Matt Wade of Pfeiffer, Averett University players Kevin Alvarez and Trent Watkins, and Lynchburg College’s Lincoln Evans.
