Didn’t even know that Ken Morgan had stepped down, but Andy Harper new baseball coach at High Point Central

Wasn’t even aware that Ken Morgan had stepped down as the head baseball coach at High Point Central High School, but we hear today that Andy Harper has been named to be the new head coach for the Bison….

Harper has previously been the assistant coach baseball coach at East Forsyth HS and he was also the head coach at Winston-Parkland for five seasons…

Coach Harper graduated and played high school baseball at Kerwin Christian in Kernersville and he attended college at Winston-Salem State University…

Hate to lose Coach Ken Morgan, because I do believe he really turned that HP Central program around and he had helped them begin to turn the corner toward success, with playoff appearances over the past several seasons and he helped develop a load of talent with Trevor Gay, Josh Wilson, Ryan Kahny and others leading the way to the Bison’s success…

Best of luck to Coach Harper, but the directive of Coach Morgan with discipline and baseball fundamentals will be missed and let’s just hope that by the time Coach Morgan’s young sons are ready to play high school baseball, that he will be ready to start coaching again at one of our area high schools….

Coach Harper has also spent time coaching in the Golden Spikes program at the North Carolina Baseball Academy…
