Ragsdale’s James Stepp Headed to Newberry

Ragsdale Tiger Basketball standout James Stepp has committed to playing his college basketball career at Newberry College.

Stepp, who has also been named to play in this summer’s East-West All-Star game in Greensboro, amassed for 1,126 points, hit 185 three-pointers, and dished out 260 assists during his career with the Tigers.

During his senior season, Stepp averaged 20.8 points and 3.4 assists per game, while making 90 three pointers. Stepp was a member of the Piedmont Triad 4A All-Conference team his junior season, and was named Conference Co-Player of the Year as a Senior. Along with these accolades, Stepp was also named 1st Team All-District, and NC Preps 4A All-State Team this past season.
