Any High School Football 7 on 7’s going on today/Friday???

Southern Guilford at Page on Thursday and still looking for a detailed report from our man that is usually on the scene, Ron ‘Bug’ Harris and I know he will check in with us, good man on the scene, going back to the middle school days at Aycock and the real early days on Phillips Avenue…7 on 7 was looking pretty busy over at Page on Thursday….

Any 7 on 7 for this Friday???

We heard that Northwest Guilford will be traveling down to Catawba College for a big one next weekend and we know that Northern Guilford or one of our other teams from the area was soon to be heading down to Dorman, South Carolina to meet Coach David Gutshall’s team and some other SC squads, but do we have any concrete news on any other games of 7 on 7 being played today/Friday, or tomorrow/Saturday???

  1. The Page and Southern 7 on 7 left a lot to be desired. There were several key players missing in this one. Not nearly as exciting as the first one. The usual suspects showed up in both. The Ellis kid from Page had a good day. He made some super catches while dropping one or two. He had more catches than drops. Nathan Stoner the Southern QB is coming into his own. He made great check down reads and froze the defenders quite a few times. Other guys for Southern were able to step up in the absence of their go to guy Keyon Taylor. Tariq Haqq and Ronald Hunt made big catches. I hope Southern is able to use Haqq more as a deep threat. There is no one in the county the he can’t blow by. This kid is flat out fast with little effort. Hunt is a big strong Ebron type and he doesn’t mind mixing it up. Amon Harris caught the ball pretty well out of the backfield. I’m looking for both of these teams to do well in the conference. With that said I give the edge to Page in this one. Southern had a difficult time defending the long ball in this one and Pages’ defense did a great job of keeping everything in front of them. I would be remissed if I did not mention the LB’s from Southern. Wild man Mello Herbin had several picks as did Garret Veneable. JB,Ron Hunt, and Nigel all did an outstanding job covering in space from their OLB positions. I hope that both teams have a great season.

  2. It’s (Ron Hunt) Not “Ronald”, But Its Ok. Thanks For The Comparison To EBRON I Really Appreciate It, And Me And My Team Will Work Hard To Get A Ring This 2014 Season !!!
