Former HPU Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder Sara Kuhlman Named Assistant Coach At Findlay

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Former High Point University women’s lacrosse midfielder Sara Kuhlman has been named an assistant coach at the University of Findlay for the 2015 campaign.

A member of High Point’s first class, Kuhlman helped lead the Panthers to two NCAA Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) and four conference titles during her HPU career.

The Cincinnati product now returns to her native Ohio to begin her collegiate coaching career with the Oilers.

“There’s no better way to continue moving into the lacrosse world than to carry on what my coaches have taught me here at High Point,” Kuhlman said. “The lessons that I learned during my time as a student-athlete are invaluable. HPU prepared me well for a career in coaching and I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned to Findlay.”

A four-time all-conference selection, Kuhlman is HPU’s all-time leader in draw controls. She finished her career with 157 points on 114 goals and 43 assists, including a career-best 49 points (18g, 49a) as a senior.

One of the most decorated Panthers on and off the field in program history, Kuhlman earned Millis Scholar-Athlete honors on three occasions during her HPU career and was named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll as a junior. She graduated in May with a degree in health and physical education.

“My High Point experience means everything to me,” Kulhman said. “If I could do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same way. Being part of the first class in program history and winning a championship every year is something I’ll value forever.”
