Greensboro Selected as Stop on Fore the Troops Golf Tour July 21, 2014

USO-NC and the NFL Players Association Team up to Help the Troops

WHO: NFL Players Association NFL players; USO of NC President John Falkenbury; Military service members; community supporters

WHAT: USO of North Carolina Fore the Troops Golf Tour

WHEN: Monday, July 21 at 10 a.m., opening ceremony at 09:30 a.m.

WHERE: Starmount Forest Country Club, 1 Sam Snead Drive Greensboro, NC

WHY: NFL Players Association in North Carolina is teaming up with the USO of NC to help the troops. Several former NFL players (over 10) have committed to golfing at the Greensboro event to support the Fore the Troops Charity Golf Tour; an outing to benefit members of our Armed Forces in North Carolina. Golfers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the NFL players.

An awards reception will follow, where guests will receive prizes and have the opportunity to purchase tickets for raffle and silent auction items. This event is an annual fundraiser to support our critical troop and family programs and services to the more than 700,000 lives touched annually. This includes services that will be provided to troops- including the Guard and Reserves, in the Greensboro and greater Triad community.

Greensboro was selected as the next stop in the Fore the Troops Charity Golf Tournament because of its commitment to honoring and supporting service men and women in the area and the rich history of the Starmount Country Club.. Two winners from the Greensboro tournament will advance to the Traditions of Honor Cup in Charlotte: the Highest Fundraiser and the Lowest Score.

Funds raised from the event will be used in the USO of NC Centers, making Every Moment Count for our service members and their families. An exciting opening event and other activities will take place during the tournament.
