Johnny Cougar’s kid in trouble again:Mellencamp will be in football camp, but he may have to step out-of-bounds for court time

John Mellencamp used to go by the name Johnny Cougar back in his early days coming out of his hometown of Seymour, Indiana, but things and times change and now issues are changing again for his son, Hud, a football player for the Duke Blue Devils…

GREENSBORO — Duke walk-on football player Hud Mellencamp, the son of Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer John Mellencamp, remains part of the Blue Devils football program despite his second arrest in the last 12 months.

Mellencamp, 20, a junior defensive back for the Blue Devils who has yet to appear in a game, was arrested July 10 for illegal consumption of alcohol in his native Indiana, court records show.

Duke coach David Cutcliffe told The Herald-Sun on Monday that Mellencamp remains part of the team while the facts are being gathered.
